New camera and goodbye Australia 2008

I have been buying new camera equipment and investing in lenses.
I’ve also been learning advanced techniques to get the most out of my images.

Samoa 2007

Spent 2 weeks in Samoa. The smaller more populated island is Upolu, where my friend's village is located. I spent just under a week with my friends's family, cooking and eating yummy food. We spent 5 days in Savai'i, which is the bigger less populated island to the west.
Although the island is beautiful, I didn't find the people to be welcoming. So I decided not to move in and continue to Nomadic lifestyle.

OZ Holidays 2007

I went away in February to Wollemi National Park, A real wilderness area. Spent some time liloing up and down the Colo River, exploring a few places.
In March I went to Northern Blue Mountains for 4 days. Went cannoning for the first day, Wollangambe Canyon was easy access. The water was cold, but it was a spectacular gorge. Met some nice people out there. I liloed 10km and did some walking in between.
Next day, I went to Jenolan Caves which is a limestone cave complex in Kanangra National Park.
A couple of weeks later I hit Royal NP & Ku-ring-gai Chase NP. The highlight was the Coast Track walk in Royal NP.  26km, over 2 days. It swept through stunning coastal sandstone cliffs, lush heathland, sandy beaches and tropical rainforest. It was quite unique really because I could catch the train back from where I started!

Mum And Dad In Australia 2006

Took me a long time to get them here. And took a fair bit of planning.
Mum And Dad were in the Hunter for 2 weeks.
We went everywhere we could;
Stockton sand hills. Myall Lakes, The Vineyards, camping in the Wattigans and Sydney.
Had a great one. Thanks folks!

South Korea 2006

South Korea: Land of Barbeque's in tables and pickled spicy cabbage.
Well, I only had a week, and most of the really cool stuff couldn’t be photographed. Eg the mad 8 story sauna complex.

But it’s been a lot of fun. But probably wouldn’t recommend it over Tokyo (Unless you’re skint)

Xmas in the UK 2005

Xmas in the UK
Surprise People!!
Well, I HAD YOU ALL!!!
Lets face it. You weren’t expecting that one!
Although I probably shouldn't do that again. I may give someone a heart attack!
What a great xmas. I had a lot of fun. And drank far too much for far to long. It was great to be back!!

Newcastle and Holidays 2005 - 2006

Newcastle and some Holidays.
Im living in New south wales, Australia.  The climate is good. And im enjoying work. Ive been sailing for 2 years now, and race twice a week. There are Pictures from my 2005 winter holiday to Queensland. And Pics from my Autumn 2006 holiday to South Barrington and Chichester forest. And my Spring 2006 holidays to Dorrigo District, Myall Lakes and Wattigans

Tasmania 2005

Well, I finally got to Tasmania, The Island at the bottom of OZ.
I shipped the Landcruiser over on the "Spirit of Tasmania", an eat all you can salmon and oyster spectacular (now discontinued)
Tasmania was awesome! For a small place it had incredible 4x4 tracks. But it has no desert! But allot of great beaches, if a little chili. It rained the entire time, so these pictures look great considering.

Top to Bottom 2004

The Queensland and New South Wales outback. My Favorite part of Australia by far. Ive been here before but had to go back.
Atherton tablelands, Undara lava tubes, Opal mining in Opalton, Mungo NP, Blue Mountains NP.
Great Route! But probably the toughest route Cairns to Sydney!

Cape York 2004

From the Gulf track, cutting through to the The Old Telegraph track directly.
Me, Jesica and Hans spent 2 weeks on the cape. We could have spent longer. What an adventure!
Then back to Cairns. Full Circle in a year.

The Top End 2004

Its been 3 weeks from Darwin to Cairns.

Litchfield NP, Darwin, Kakadu NP, Arnhem lands festival, Gulf of Carpentaria and Nathan lost city. Then to the Queensland border.

This was certainly one of the best bits of OZ!

The Kimberly’s 2004

So it’s been a long journey through the Kimberly's, Bungle Bungles and on to Darwin.
I was traveling with Micheal and Roald again.
The roads were rough. The number plate fell off long ago,
I've ripped a couple of tyres and bu**ered the suspension. I dont care, because this place was like a huge natural water park, with crocs!

West Coast 2004

The west coast, as expected, was a lot more interesting than the east coast of oz.
Although it is difficult to access the coastline by 4x4.
We went scuba diving and swam with a wale shark.
The outback Karijini National park was however the highlight.

Adelaide to Perth via Alice Springs and the deserts 2004

In the first part we set off to see the deserts of SA. Adelaide to Alice was the plan.
We had to change the route a bit. It got muddy in places and we nearly sunk. But its been a blast.
Alice Springs to Perth via McDonnell ranges, palm valley, kings canyon, Ayers rock, the Gunbarrel highway and the great central road.
It took 2 weeks, it was worth it, but we missed the footy.
Oh and my camera broke, so half of the shots are Michiels.

Cairns to Mildura 2003-2004

I was in Cairns for 7 weeks in 2003. It was more fun than I thought.
Work was a laugh, and I also worked for the RFDS.
Teamed up with 3 German Girls and bought my Landcruiser 60 series. I Traveled with the girls from Cairns to Brisbane Via Fraser Island. And had my first Christmas in the sun!
I went to Woodford Folk festival for New year, which was great. Then Teamed up with 2 more girls to visit The New south wales national parks. It rained alot for this trip, but the blue mountains were spectacular.
I Got a job in Mildura while I was in Sydney, so drove to the Victorian Outback.
I worked in Mildura for 3 months. Took lots of breaks to explore the Murray Basin.
I suppose these Trips were the preparation for much bigger things later.

Ive been amping it up on my Travels.
